Seeing the band “Warpaint” Three Times In One Year!

Earlier this week, I was with a friend at the Warpaint/ The National show in Austin, Texas. That’s when I realized that I’d seen Warpaint three times over the last year. Once was at Austin’s Psych Fest, another was at the SPIN party at SXSW, and the final time was the show this week.

Talking with my friend, I couldn’t help thinking that Warpaint is the biggest all-female band that is run by the women. That’s a rare spot to be in. From The Runaways to The Supremes, female groups have often had a male puppetmaster behind the scenes.
