Jane Doe at Fantastic Fest
You’ve heard the one about people whistling past the graveyard, to hide their fear? What would you say if you’d seen film festival-goers up to their elbows in a prop body?
During Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas this fall, film fans were able to interact with the prop body of Jane Doe, from the film “The Autopsy of Jane Doe.”
The film is legit horrifying, absurdly clever and is absolutely amazing. Set in an old-fashioned family run funeral home in a small town, with a father-son mortician team, it’s a tale of how things get really really odd when a certain someone gets brought into the morgue. Telling you much more about what happens and what the team finds would spoil the engine of the film, but it’s easy to spill that the creepy old funeral home where the action takes place is one spooky- ookie set!
It even has a boo scare that started this jaded film goer and longtime haunted house worker!
The film opens on December 21. It’s directed by the fabulous André Øvredal (best known for Trollhunter) and stars Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox as the father/son autopsy team.
