Still Missing David Bowie

Earlier this evening a  friend came over to the house, and asked in passing if I was still missing David Bowie. Of course I said yes.

We live in a world where the endless churn of celebrity gossip, celebrity reproduction and our constant fuss over the fashion parade is never ending. But we don’t talk about art very much.

David Bowie might be one of the few people who managed to combine celebrity and the making of actual art.

If you haven’t seen Bowie’s Blackstar video, I suggest you watch it. Not everyone could manage the artistic trick of having their skull be treated as a glimmering saint’s relic in a video made at the end of their life.

So yes, still missing David Bowie. Think I will be for a while.
