The Minus 5: Awesome!

This Saturday night my husband took me to see The Minus 5 at The Continental Club in Austin. While I had heard him talk about the band–as well as about Scott McCaughey‘s earlier group The Young Fresh Fellows I really didn’t know much about the band.

Now I’m in love! On my way out after the show I even told McCaughey how much I enjoyed the show and tweeted my Latvian music friend that she would totally like them.

After going to the Saturday night show at the Continental Club (see a video on their Facebook), Paul and I also been discussing what a fab fit they would be for a taping for the Austin City Limits television show. After all The Minus 5 has an album called “Down With Wilco” recorded with the members of Wilco. That’s meta, y’all.

I wasn’t surprised to hear that McCaughey plays bass for Robyn Hitchcock.
