Looking Into “The Crystal Ball” Worth It
I’ve had a bad cold this week, so I’ve been trying to entertain myself with films.
Stumbling over this 1943 film about a beauty contest entrant who fills in for a flim-flammy fortune teller on her way to finding love was an unexpected pleasure!
The pacing is zippy, the hats are fabulous and the cars are dreamy! Totally worth your time!
Starring Paulette Goddard, Ray Milland and a super-cute 1939 Crosley 1A Convertible Sedan!
I will give you that the film does display some troubling language towards a native American spirit guide, but it isn’t nearly as bad as many of the other racist films of the time.
