This afternoon I went to the Sage Francis in-store at Waterloo Records. Since they were late due to insane rain on the highway on the way from Dallas, they did an set without any instruments and with only a microphone. It was lovely! They’re preforming at Red 7 in Austin tonight for an early show. (Well, early for Austin. Doors are at 7:30 p.m.)
While I’m not much into hip-hop, I like the spoken word/old school slam poet vibe you get with Sage Francis.
I’m sorry that I didn’t get a chance to buy a copy of the new album and get Sage Francis to sign it, but I did tell him that his afternoon show was totally the highlight of my day. Because it was.
