Last Summer You Could See Imagine Dragons Were Going To Be A Stadium Act!
Last summer at the Positivus Music Festival, I had a casual backstage chat with a European music industry friend about the band Imagine Dragons.
The band had sparked the biggest interest of any act that summer at the media tent, and my friend had assumed that last July they were already a stadium act in America. I told him that wasn’t the case yet. That, of course you could see it coming, but that it hadn’t happened yet.
Yet in the last six months, driven by the power of their song “Radioactive” the band has become a big deal. They played the Grammys and they are indeed on a stadium tour, playing big places like Austin’s Erwin Center, where they’ll be appearing on February 20th, 2014. There are still a few show tickets to be found.
If you haven’t seen the band, the singer Dan Reynolds moves around the stage like a pinball, never staying in one place for long! If you get to an Imagine Dragons show, you’re in for a high energy set!
Here are some of the pictures that I took of Imagine Dragons at Positivus last summer. You can see more of the set on Flickr.
