The City of Austin has a Free Microchip and Tag Offer For Your Pets
There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to teach your furry family members how to clearly enunciate their own street address and phone number. Even if you do manage to teach your doggie your digits, trying to get your pitbull to phone home when he’s partying on the eastside is so hard! Fuhgeddaboutit!
Can you blame them? Have you tried dialing a iPhone with a paw?
An easier, cheaper, less frustrating solution: take advantage of the city’s new free microchip and tag offer.
With the City of Austin’s multiple shelters currently overflowing–and given the number of pet-terrifying thunderstorms we’ve been having–this is something you can do to make sure that all your furry family members get home safely.
The microchip/tag offer is offered on a walk-in basis from 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, just bring your pet to the Austin Animal Center location at 7201 Levander Loop, and make sure to bring in an ID or bill that proves that you live in Austin or Travis County.
As a bonus, the free chip/ID tag offer will be among the many attractions available during the city’s first family-friendly Pet Extravaganza event on Saturday.
