While there are a ton of entertainment events to choose from on the Friday night of SXSWi, there’s one event we’re totally stoked about, and that’s Pastries and Pasties 2. We were there last year for very first version of this event, and we’re betting that this year will be even more fun!Tonight’s event will feature Burlesque by
Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, Jigglewatts, BIg Star Burlesque and Dallas’ Lollie Bombs. There will be offerings from cupcake purveyors including: Madcakes, Polkadots, The Cupcake Bar,Toot Sweet, Holy Cacao, as well as from other cupcake makers and some talented local bakers. (A leak in the local baking community informed us that there may be some spicy Double Chocolate Chipotle cupcakes at the event this year! Shhh, don’t tell! We don’t want to share with just everyone!)
In order to get into last year’s event, we shivered while waiting in line on Sixth Street for an hour! Once inside the only marginally climate-controlled space of Emo’s, we found it to be awfully chilly even while wearing clothing (we could only imagine how chilly some of those performers must have been)! We had so much fun that night, that we were even compelled to buy a set of of pasties at the event!
So you can see why we’re totally looking forward to the second version of this party. We’re just hoping for slightly warmer weather this year!
